Outsurance Rejected a Legitimate insurance claim

My vehicle is insured with Outsurance & I had an accident recently. I reported the accident to Outsurance within 24 Hrs as per procedure & was then told to take my car to a panelbeater for assesment. Outsurance must have realised that the cost of the repair was going to be expensive.

They then hired a private investigator to try & find reasons not to pay. The investigator interrogated me with the objective of finding loop holes with the claim which he didn't. He went as far as 1) interviewing my brother who was with me in the car 2) going to the scene of the accident 3) Checking my previous insurance record which they didn't check when I joined & 4) checking the ITC records to see if I was not double insured.

They found no issues with the legitimacy of my claim but found that the number of claims with my previous insurance for 3 years was not the same as the number of accident I mentioned when joined. My claim was therefore rejected on that basis. Now, Why is it convenient for them to contact my insurance for the previous claim records now, when they didn't do it when I joined. This indicates that they did not want to pay in the first place, hence the hiring of the investig
