Delay in finalising a claim

Standard Insurance Limited. So far it is now six weeks I've been waiting for a claim to be finalised. I was advised on the 15 January that an assessor would contact me regarding damage caused to my bathroom by a water leak. On the 18 January I phoned them to find out why I hadn't been contacted, only to be told that the assessor had forgotten about me. I was promised that the assessor would contact me within the next hour and now six weeks later I'm still waiting. Emails go unanswered and I've been left in the dark as to what is happening. I've never been treated so badly before by a company. Absolutely no feed back. I thought I was the only one not receiving feed back, but after reading through other complaints on "hellopeter", I see I'm not the only one who hasn't been getting any feed back from SIL. I contacted their Customer Resolution Centre (complaints) via telephone and email, but have also received no joy, only to be told to speak to the lady handling the claim who never responds. It is now going onto seven weeks that I have been without the use of my bathroom. What a disgrace. Standard Insurance Limited needs to learn about customer service. Next step - Ombudsman.
