Power unit burn in ou house

Business & Finance

The morning of 21 Jan 2013 our tenant in our house phoned, said that power unit in kitchen burn. I phoned ABSA insurance to log a claim. Speak with Lorraine. She ask me if there was lightning. I told her that there was rain the weekend, but I don't think that there was lightning. She told me to ask a electrician to look what's wrong, why the unit burn. The electrician fix the power the next morning, after replacing the earthleakage and isolator. Speak with Angena at ABSA, she said she will phone the electrician to find out more about the damage and why the unit burned. They phoned me twice to keep me informed of progress for claim. I phoned several times to find out how the claim progress. On 7 Febr ABSA appoint a assessor. The assessor ask me to send the invoice from the electrician. I did so. On 15 Febr ABSA told me they shall pay us the amount of R168.50 for the damage - according to them the damage was caused by lightning. The electrician's invoice amount was R1168.50. Must I settle for the R168.50 or what can I do?
