I have telephonic register a claim with ABSA Insurance on the 21/11/2013, regarding the electric motor of the garage door which was damage by lightning on the eve of 20/11/2013. I was promised that somebody will contact me within 48 hours. I daily contacted them, holding the line 20 - 40 minutes without any success.

The same claim was registered on-line 28/11, with no success. An email was send 5/12 requesting the status of the claims or a contact person, no response to the email.

On the 6/12 ABSA respond on the telephonic registered claim, I was informed that an assessor was appointed. The assessor phone me on the 9/12 to confirm details, shortly after that the contractor made an appointment to assess. A quotation was forward to ABSA on the 10/12.

I phoned the contractor 12/12 for a progress update, he inform me that he cannot proceed because ABSA let him know that another contractor must do the repairs. The assessor referred me back to ABSA. I phoned ABSA a couple of times without any success.

I found it highly frustrated and very difficult to get hold of ABSA for assistance
