Let your house burn down!

I have ABSA home insurance. 2 Weeks ago my underfloor heating went faulty and the carpet started to burn. Luckily this was noted due to a burning smell and no further damage occurred. Thanks goodness my wife was at home!

I phoned ABSA home insurance. They send out someone to assess the claim. My claim was rejected. ABSA told me that they would pay if the house burned down but not for the underfloor heating or the carpet? Is this a contradiction?

2 weeks ago I requested that the supervisor or manager phone me because he was not available - nothing so far. Last week I left another message - still no feedback.
