Quicksure
Refusal to accept liability

Business & Finance

On 15/01/2013 I was involved in a three-car pile up. I was the car in the front. Traffic was at a standstill. A Toyota rammed into a red Audi behind me and she banged into me. I have limited cover and so contacted Quiksure (the ins. comp. of the Audi) to put through a claim for damages to my car and was told what documents to submit.By 31/01/2013 there was no response. I contacted Quicksure and Anne-marie told me that their attorneys will contact me. On 05/02/2013 I received a call from Tracy of Louwrens Coetzer and Partners asking for payment for damages to their insured's car. On 06/02/2013 I received a letter of demand from them. The registration no. quoted was neither mine, nor that of the car that rammed into the Audi. To further highlight their confusion, the payment demanded was the amount quoted for repairs to MY car. I e-mailed them, pointing out their confusion. A day later Tracy responds acknowledging their mistake and stated that the driver of the Toyota had no insurance. On 15/02/2013 Tracy e-mails saying that Quiksure cannot accept liability as their insured did not cause the accident and that my claim with the driver of the Toyota. I absolutely do not agree.
