B3 refused to pay the claim

We had a funeral policy with B3 for the past 6yrs and after a tragedic death of my sister last week B3 refused to pay the claim; they told us the deceased was not covered has been removed and my parents were not aware of that; we don't have any proof in writing confirming that the deceased was not covered; they checked first and they told us she is covered with R15000 and and when we claim the amount they said she is not covered because of the age; how can they say she is covered then later not covered?
