Absa
ABSA Pvt Bank Insurance putting lives at risk

Business & Finance

I had a fire at my house in Oct 2010, where after Absa Insurance Company appointed Amalpro to do the house repairs.
Some of the damaged electrical items were the db board, as well as the extractor fan, kitchen lighting and all the electrical wiring in my kitchen which melted.
Since the db board was rewired, I have had endless problems with my main switch tripping and light bulbs fusing (all items which was repaired) I have since the repairs, logged 2 additional claims with Absa to rectify the electrical problem, with no resolution.
Two weeks ago, my wife cleaned the extractor fan and received an electrical shock. I then paid the Gauteng Electrical Inspection Authority R1 500 to come and check the installation. They confirmed that the wiring on the DB board was not done properly in their report, as well as the fact that there is an issue with the extractor fan.
I forwarded this report to ABSA, who sent it on to the initial contractor. According to him (Werner), he is not responsible for the faulty wiring and now Absa is giving me the run-around.
How long is Absa going to put lives at risk before they own up to their responsibility and fix the faulty wiring?
