My daughter, whom has an existing student loan with Standard bank, applied for a new loan, to cover this semester, on the 20th December.
All documents and surety received by the bank, as confirmed on the on-line tracker. The status has been "awaiting decision" for the past 5 weeks!
On Monday, we went to the Alberton branch to enquire. A service consultant assisted us by phoning the student loans division, held on for 15 minutes and nobody answered her call. She eventually asked a senior colleague to send an e-mail, requesting feedback.
3 days later and still no response from the bank.
I am a loyal customer of the bank for close on 30 years and I have been promoting "my bank" within my family, wanting them to follow in my footsteps...
Unfortunately, this experience and poor service makes me think...
It never used to take this long. Come on, Standard Bank, get your act together!
