INCOMPETENT SERVICE FROM FNB

I recently moved banks and got offered a young working banking package where I was promised a cheque account and a credit card. I have submitted all the required documentation that FNB requested. When I visited the Stellenbosch branch on 09/12/2013, I was assured that I would receive my credit card in 3 days. I requested that the card be delivered to Brooklyn Pretoria. 17/12/2013 I visited the Brooklyn branch to retrieve my card. After waiting more than an hour for service (only one consultant on duty, staring blankly toward her screen), I was informed that the card has not been issued, and was simply given a number to dial to solve the problem myself. Rather upset that the phone call was not made by the consultant, I phoned the credit card division, only to be redirected to applications. The work contract that the bank requested did not stipulate my work hours and date of payment, and therefore the card was not issued. This however was never communicated to me, and the institution for which I work for is now closed. I could have easily provided the information, should the sales consultant have done her job and followed up my account. Frankly I regret opening an account with FNB.
