A few months ago (around May 2013) I received a call from Standard bank offering me upgrade to my existing credit card to a gold credit card which I accepted. Months later I realised that I had not received the credit card and contacted Standard Bank. I was informed that the card was delivered but I had not been notified. The card was then redelivered but to the incorrect branch. I was eventually able to collect my card in August 2013 and requested that the credit card be linked to my cheque account so that I pay the credit card via internet banking. Before leaving the bank I confirmed with the bank that this was done. When trying to make a payment I found that this was not the case. I have called and e-mailed numberous times with for Standard bank to assist me with no response yet now I receive MMS's daily stating I will be handed over. I wish to pay my credit card with Standard Bank (excluding the interest incurred at no fault of my own since using the card) and close my credit card and cheque account with Standard Bank and walked into a branch to do this yesterday but even the branch was unable to assist me. How can one company be this useless?
