New credit card got delivered to me 2 days ago. Checked the card and saw that the account number was incorrect. Gave Standard Bank (SB) a call and was informed that they are discontinuing my type of card and replacing it with an upgrade. Problem is, SB did not inform me of this change, surely they need to inform their client if they are closing his account and opening another account in his name? Surely the client must agree to this change and at the very least sign some sort of agreement? I did not ask for and do not want an upgrade, because i'm sure it will just cost more (hey SB?) In my opinion SB is committing.

Oh yes, they also forgot to mention that I can not use my old pin number with this card, now I have to go visit a branch to get a new pin issued.
Oh wait, thats not all. I use my credit card to access my internet banking. Once my old credit card has expired I won't have acccess to my internet banking. Guess I will have to visit a branch to change that as well.
Asked for a manager to give me a call yesterday, was promised that they will get back to me in minutes. Still waiting. Standard Bank - your service is pathetic.
