Nedbank
Delays in assessing damaged property

Business & Finance

I hereby wish to report the Nedbank Insurance with regards to their response to recent storms that took place around Gauteng. I have a house in Mahube Valley (Mamelodi), my roof, windows and ceilings of two rooms were affected by the storm that happened on Thursday the 28 November 2013. I submitted my claim on Friday morning the 29 November and received claim no. C1113110005375 and that Assessor RN Pearse has been appointed as an assessor. I called the assessor on Monday the 02 December and he promised to call me back, he never called back on Monday. Again on Tuesday I called again and he told me he was in Soshanguve and will call me when he is approaching the area. I told him there is a tenant at the house and he must call the tenant to make arrangements, at 4pm he calls to tell me he was verbally abused by the tenant when he called him as he was at the house and there's no one at the house, which makes sense as he never made prior arrangements with the tenant he just decided to pitch. I called him yesterday morning at around 7am and he promised to call the tenant he never did. To date, the assessor has not pitched; the house is still in a mess. This is bad service
