Revolving Loan Application Conditions

I have banked with standard bank for almost 5 years now. I have held a RCP (55000) with SB for 4 years. Settled it in June 2013.

Wanted a new RCP to finance an old car that does not qualify for vehicle financing.
I was told that the bank now requires a declaration by my employer informing them that If I leave my employment, my employer would inform SB. I feel that this is an unfair requirement as no employer would want to be involved in my personal financial matters as this is a transaction that is entered between me and SB and not between SB and the employer.

Please clarify this discriminatory policy of yours.
