Verification fault on banks part causes no finance

I applied for pre-approval through Standard Bank which was approved.
I submitted all the required documentation to Rhadika Singh, ID, License, Current Employment Payslip and Offer of Employment as I'll be joining in August.
Rhadika told me that I'd need to submit a full employment contract from the new employer, as the bank would not accept a letter of employment (which detailed my salary structure) which I arranged for and sent through.
I then received an sms telling me that finance has been approved pending verification. Standard Bank then phones a random person at my new company, who isn't aware that I'll be starting there in Aug, and when this person tells them that they don't know about me the bank declines the finance!!!??

Why did Standard Bank not phone and ask for the correct person in Finance or HR who would know about me? I feel that I was being totally transparent about my employment change, and submitted all the required information correctly, then I'm being declined because the bank refuses to do verification properly?

EXTREMELY UNFAIR as this fault was not on my part.
