Foreigners are are more likely to be criminals

Ive been living and working in South Africa for the last 9 years and for 8 of those 9 years ive banked with standard bank. with that said i was supprised when i went to standard bank sandton branch this morning to try and get my EXISTING overdraft facility increaced, where one consultant informed me that i could not have that done simply because standard bank has had a problem with foreigners who "absond the country" without settling their oustanding ballance on their account. therefor if you are a foreigner and hold a standard bank account and need your bank overdraft increased, they will require you to provide a letter from your employer, stating that if the details of your employment changes or terminated, the company undertakes to inform Standard bank of such events. Apart from that they require your contract of employment (which they already have in my case) and your salary advise slip. he further told me that even if i qualify and supply the documents im still subject to being "assessed" before this can be done. this is the policy, which basically treats all foreigners holding standard bank accouts, regardless of your individual banking profile! as potential!
