At least I no longer feel targeted; so glad that there are more of us out there getting SMS's and calls from this Company for non-existent overdue accounts.
Initially I tried to explain, then I demanded to speak to management and finally resorted to threats, but now I just have fun. I realize the call center has the collective intellect of an amoebae and I have their number saved in my phone, so I'm always prepared. If I'm busy, its a simple "Go F@#! yourself" If not, I plug my cell into a charger, put it on speaker-phone and have a ball running up their phone-bill. Anything goes - "sorry he's at the Gupta wedding / playing golf with Shabir / at Nkandla with no signal / back at the hospital in Isipingo that's trying to trace him / He's at the shop - please hold" and so on. Otherwise, a juddering sigh followed by "He died..."
