Standard Bank
Manager refuses to assist in increasing limits

Business & Finance

I am a 60% shareholder of my company, but one of the other shareholders have sole rights to amend banking limits etc. Today this shareholder was admitted to hospital, and we had to do an urgent transfer to a supplier. However, we were informed that our monthly transfer limit had been reached, and I went into the bank to increase ourtransfer limit. After queing for well over an hour, I was referred to the branch manager who simply shrugged that he was unable to do anything. He offered no advise on how to get around the situation and even got and threatened to cut up the debit card of the business when I got angry! I still have to pay salaries this month, but with Standard bank refusing to give me access to my OWN money, I might not be able to. I shudder to think what would happen to my business should the ther shareholder not be able to physically go to the branch to increase our limit, but Standard bank treats us as if they couldn't care less about their customers! This manager's whole attitude was extremely inappropriate and unhelpful. I am definitely shopping around for a better bank!
