On 27/08/13 I logged a complaint on HelloPeter (useless-online-home-loan-application-facility-1176308) regarding the horrendous experience we have had trying to take out a further loan on our bond. This complaint seemed to get the wheels turning a bit quicker. What was surprising is that this never seemed to be escalated so that I was talking to decision makers/someone senior?! I am also shocked that while it was successful, it is at an unacceptable rate. Now our weighted rate on the entire loan is being pushed up without reason. After talking to the bank about this they have declined to adjust it. I would have expected at least the same rate especially after the entire experience so far. I have spoken to the bank and explained this along with the fact that we are eligible for a significantly better rate at a competitor. Still Standard Bank is willing to do nothing to repair the damage caused thus far. As such, I will be moving my bond as well as ALL of my business to the competitor. My wife is doing the same. This is not the first time that Standard Bank has left us with a sour taste in our mouths but this is the last straw. Never again will we be customers of Standard Bank
