Account was settled, but still trying to get money

I used to have a car which was financed through MFC. LAst week, I traded it in on a new vehicle, the dealer settled the amount with MFC, and showed me the settlement letter from mfc, stating that the settlement account takes into consideration, the debit order of the 1st of July. I phoned MFC to ask them about the debit order that was suppose togo off on the 1st of August. Only to be told that they will not refund the amount, UNLESS I query it. And then it would take 14days for my money to be back in my account. I told the call centre as this is unacceptable. I was then advised that if I dont like it, I should cancel my debit order. Which I did. Only, now I am getting smses telling me I have to make the payment for the 1st of april, this on a vehicle that has been settled. Pathetic service
