Lazarus Motor Company
Bad Sales experience

Cars & Transport

I bought a new vehicle from Lazarus end of May 2013. I had a trade-in and as per usual they ask what the settlement is on the old vehicle so they can make me an offer. At delivery of the new vehicle I signed all the papers as well as get finalisation on the settlement amount of the old vehicle. At that stage the settlement amount was just over R382 000 and on the OTP they gave me R380 000. I had to made a cash payment of just over the R2 000. A week and a half later the sales person phoned me to tell me there was in issue with the settlement. They did not settle the old vehicle as yet and that there will be a payment going of my account for the old vehicle. I now have a bad credit record because I had to cancel the debit order hoping they would settle in time but they didn't. Yesterday I phoned the finance company again just to make sure that the account was settle and it was, there was an EFT payment of just over R377 000. So technically the not only owe me the difference of what is stated on the OTP and the actual settlement amount they paid, but also the extra R2 000 I had to pay in the first place! Aren't they suppose to refund me? Will never do business with them again.
