Settlement of Ca

I traded my Mazda 6 in for the 1.2 Active Peugeot 208 and was told that my Mazda would be settled in full.

My bank deducted the payment of my Mazda off my account the following month. I emailed the financial persons at the dealership I bought the car from and asked him if I should reverse the payment or will the bank pay it back into my account. He then informed me that my account has been settled and that I should phone the back and reverse the debit order which I did.

A few weeks later I got a phone call from the sales person saying that my account is going to be in arrears because I cancelled my debit order before the account was settled. I then sent an email to the sales person with the email attached from the financial guy saying that I should go cancel the debit order and that the account has been settled.

I also phoned the bank and they told me that my settlement value was only valid until a current date and that the account was only settled two days after this date.

My bank has now debited my account again for the Mazda which I know have to cancel again which is going to look bad on my record
