Threatening and suspect texts

Please see text recd 11 July:

You have NEVER made a PAYMENT on your Nedbank current account. You will be receiving a visit at your RESIDENCE/EMPLOYMENT. LEGAL DOCUMENTS will be served on you personally. CALL URGENTLY 0800 002118 to AVOID LEGAL ACTION and COST. Ref TPF2977.

Background: circa Oct 2011 similar text messages recd. Customer visited Nedbank St George's Mall. Matter left with Branch Manager. No narrative posted by bank.

On receipt of text went to Nedbank Table View, spoke to Craig Tompkins who said he would contact St George's Mall.

The texts are bully tactics. Where is proof? Did they monitor the account diligently? Blaming customer for their mismanaged accounting practice? Account not used; fees incurred ; no customer service contact to the customer to deactivate/make dormant account ; knowingly escalating a small fee balance into something in excess of R2, 000.

Query: who decided initially to make debt legal? Latest text from bank offers 35% disc on unseen debt. Why go legal and now change - what's behind this? Heard of similar issues aired on radio with people falling for it - sure this is an 'inhouse' . Comments? There is more...
