I have a Nedbank SAA Voyager Premium credit card, earning Voyager miles on monthly expenditure.

Due to the Voyager miles expiring annually, I purchased two Voyager awards, planning to fly in September. I now discover that I cannot reserve seating for those awards. Upon enquiring with Voyager, I requested that I cash in additional miles to upgrade those awards, to be able to book seating. This should be a simple process, of merely taking some surplus miles from my Voyager account, add them to the existing award, and off we go. Nothing out of the ordinary is required, and I am not requesting anything for free.

Having explained the above to the call centre and the supervisor, my request is met with a blunt: NO, IT CANNOT BE DONE, and NO, WE ARE NOT PREPARED TO DO THIS.

I then contacted the Voyager Credit card centre, and explained the dilemma. and the response is: NO, WE CANNOT HELP YOU, IT IS A VOYAGER PROBLEM and NO WE ARE NOT PREPARED TO TALK TO VOYAGER and SURE, GO AHEAD, CLOSE YOUR CREDIT CARD ACCOUNT, IF ENOUGH CUSTOMERS DO IT, WE MIGHT TALK TO VOYAGER.

Amazing: WELCOME TO THE MATRIX. We now live in a place where the customer has become persona no-grata.
