Had an accident (car hit from behind) on the 13 May 2013 to date (22 July 2013) claim not sorted even after escalating to customer complaints and they in turn escalated to their regional claims manager. Even the intervention of regional claims manager yielded no results.
These are my conclusions of Santam based on my experience.
People not contactable - avoiding calls
No accountability -
No ownership - where is the claim administrator.
Blame game - Broker blames accesser.
No customer focus - no one cares to keep me updated unless I chase them
Poor communication no single point of contact, tangent emails no proper auto signature that tells me who they are, no proper follow up. - mail trails have no proper auto signatures I don't know who is who. No record of the conversations I had with Jacque (accessory's boss)

VP Beerman according to their records is my claim coordinator, have never spoken to him to date

How does all this happen. Are they really what they claim to be on your web site?
I feel cheated for 10 years. I don't have the time to note down everything in detail but I think the message is conveyed
