My vehicle was on 2/11/2013. On Monday 4/11 I requested a claim form from my broker and what I received was a threatening letter, essentially instituting an investigation of against me, and a request for a long list of extranious documentation including service records, proof that installments were paid up, a letter explaining why the vehicle was in use after hours etc. None of which has any baring as it is not mentioned in the long and convoluted policy document. Finally, after a month to the day of myself, my friends and my family being interogated by the Censeo assessor, Santam offered (on the condition that this did "not creat an expectation that the claim would be settled"???), to pay me 90% of my claim which is "standard" unless an Excess Waiver with additional premium is elected. An option I was not given at the time the policy was taken out. So, I had to accept., but to date am still waiting (without a vehicle).
I can understand Santam avoiding claims, but they try to avoid or reduce and stall payment of even the most legitmate claim. Santam's treatment was the worst part of the entire ordeal. This is unsurance not insurance!
