I applied and opened a Potentiate Account with ABSA in January. As in all marketing material and explained by the consultant my monthly credit card fee was to be paid back into my account thereby making my credit card free.

In April/May I noticed that this was not the case - I was being debited R35 but not credited. I queried this and supplied the bank with statements detailing my account from January. I was assured it would be rectified asap.

To date it has not been resolved. I had to also phone/visit the bank on several occasions to be updated. Last month the branch did make an attempt to contact me but I was unable to take the call. I appreciate the fact that this attempt was made even though I had to complain to get them to do so.

But more annoying is that it still hasn't been resolved 7 months down the line. It appears the call was just to let me know that they are working on it for the past 2 months!

Please rectify as I am considering moving to FNB whose service levels are currently outstanding having just opened an account with them
