I was retrenched

I want to know why AFRICAN BANK is still a year later refusing that i claim from the insurance taken on my loan after being retrenched.
i do not have documents because the company closed and still owes me a months salary and commission. is that my fault i had an for a boss. i want the claim for the insurance to be put through as i was completely up to date when i lost my job, now over a year later i am in arrears because i still dont have work!!! why do you offer insurance and take insurance money off if i cannot claim from that
