I have a third party claim against M&F, their client passed out behind the wheel (not the first time this happened apparently) and smashed into my classic valiant charger parked outside a mechanical workshop. My car has been upgraded with a chrysler 383 v8 (completely redone at engineers), freeflow exhaust with branches ectI stopped counting the costs at R80 000. So the quotations for the replacement cost came in at between R140 000 & R150 000. These were painstakingly obtained by various classic car dealerships and restorators.
The assessor comes and takes a quick look at my car and comes up with a value of R35 000 without knowing what upgrades the car has. Asked how he came to this amount he said he checked the autotrader. Now the last time there was a charger in the autotrader was more than a year ago and none of those cars had my upgrades.
Getting Sam from 3rd party claims on the phone is a complete waste of time as well.

So if the only resource the assessor has is the autotrader then he has no idea what he is doing or the company just has a policy of shafting people then see who has the time and money for a lawyer... this is not the first time i have to fight with this company.
