3RD PARTY CLAIMS A FARCE

On 13 Oct a woman drove into my son's car parked in front of his flat. A Security Guard witnessed the incident, took her details and reported the incident. My son discovered the damage later and got the woman's tel no. We phoned her to discuss the matter, she was aggressive and refused to provide her insurance details to us. (We are M & F clients, and we found out she is also with M & F). We lodged a 3rd party claim and the nightmare began.By mistake M & F sent out an assessor who assessed the damage to the car to be R19 000. The 3rd party dept. of M & F lost our documents for a week, and due to certain "technicalities" the case dragged on. They eventually sent out an assessor (also M & F) and he assessed the damage to be approx. R12 000 (difference of R7 000). This means that if we want the car fixed, we will have to pay the difference for being `100% innocent! My son is driving a smashed up car, and will struggle to get to work when the car goes in for repairs. The 3rd party system, which should favour INNOCENT people is obviously NOT working.
