Incorrect info given by a Consultant

I am planning on getting Gap cover with CompliMed, HOWEVER, I was told on the phone that the cut off date to get back dated for January is the 24th of January. Now when I contacted the consultant to get everything in order he tells me that the cut off date has passed. (it's the 18th today)
My hubby and i want to start trying for a baby next month which is the reason we want gap cover and the 12 month waiting period for pregnancy to be over as soon as possible..
It is no joke being messed around with incorrect information. I am NOT happy.
