It has now been more than a year and i still cant believe the nature of the way that Santam handled my vehicle claim. It was 28 January 2012, my vehicle was from my driveway behind closed gates just before 5 in the morning.

Long story short, Santam COMPLETELY disregarded the claim of my close to R200 000, 00 vehicle on terms which was not even proven to me. To date i haven't received any documents with regards to my claim and why it was not paid out. If there was discrepancies i.t.o of my policy and the claim i would expect at least some sort of documentation stipulating the case and the reasons for their judgement. The vehicle was completely paid of and was insured since the day it left the showroom. During the time of the incident i was working 12 hour days and honestly did not have the time and energy to fight the battle. More than a year later and i am still suffering from the financial consequences as i had to buy another car to get by.

Everytime I see a Santam advert with the slogan "Rest Insured" or that they pay out more than any other insurance company I shriek in disbelieve. I am so disappointed that such an established insurance company handle things in this way.
