I have a Titanium Warranty Policy with Warranty Solutions.
My Trans. is covered for R18000, my Trans replacement is costing: R25200.(not brand new)
They are claiming that the assesment report states that due to wear and tear my policy is only paying R9000.
I requested a copy of the Report which Craig refuses to supply me with to see what Wear and Tear is reported, and he emailed me this extract from the policy handbook: "Where failure is attributable to fair wear and tear the benefit in terms of the policy shall be limited to half the cost of repair or half the maximum benefit for the component concerned, whichever is the lesser amount."
Wear and tear is a form of depreciation which is assumed to occur even when an item is used competently and with care and proper maintenance, including tests, measurements, adjustments, and parts replacement, performed specifically to prevent faults from occurring. Maintenance Items that under-go wear and tear are identified by service intervals and plans for replacement.
I have not seen any maintenance plans or service intervals from the vehicle manufacturer for any component related to the trans. - "MANUFACTURE DEFECT"
