Ooba Insurance a contractual loop covering nothing

I had an incident where my house flooded due to the toilet cistern over flowing. My policy states that overflowing is a covered event.

They sent a plumber who took two pictures of the carpet and glanced at the cistern and compiled a report. From the report the plumber submitted it apparently stated that the ball valve (1 year old) failed due to wear and tear. I was informed that my policy does not cover wear and tear.

I then informed them that it was not the ball valve that failed and I was told that the insurance does not cover wear and tear, defective parts, defective design or defective construction. When I asked them what else could go wrong with anything thing if it did not fall due to one of the list, I was told that was not the point. I informed them that it was probably to indicate that you are an insurance company when technically everything is excluded (except geyser's).

The people in the call centre tell me that it has been escalated and someone will call me from Ooba but nobody does.

Don't insure with these people.
