On the 23rd of April I requested a refund of an over paid Debt Review Account. What shouldve been a simple process of, requesting a refund, processing the paperwork and transferring the money into my bank account has become a display of total incompetence in the work place. What shouldve been a 3 WORKING day process has become 2 weeks. If my maths is correct they only work 1 and a 1/2 days a week then. When you phone in, believe me I have phoned on numerous occasions, "just hold the line please" and it seems like a lifetime, but, its always the same answer, your refund is been processed, the back office is busy with it. Maybe the back office is a million light years away. After two weeks of phoning and an email to the manager, and all sorts of promises, that the money will be in this morning! Guess what, the incompetence of ABSA staff has proved itsself again. Think twice before deciding to bank at ABSA, they are totally incompent when it comes keeping their promises to clients, Yesterday - used to bank with them, Today - proves they are useless, Tomorrow - avoid banking with them. Their slogan says it all.
