I was in an accident on 24 April 2013. My car insurance is with Indwe Risk Services. My car was towed away after getting approval from Indwe.
When I called to to register my claim and get help on the procedure forward, it took me more than twenty minutes before getting through.
I found out that my car was taken to Nu wagon panel beaters and that Indwe had informed Nu wagon that it should be moved to another panel beater in Strydom park instead.
Once taken there, it was established that those panel beaters did not do structural damages and my car had to be taken back to Nu wagon.
This led to huge delays which I worry will mean higher storage costs and an ultimate higher claim amount added to my claims history.
An assessor was then supposed to be sent to assess the damages so the quote given by Nu wagon could be approved.
The assessor had called to say that he would not pay out the full claim as the car had pre-existing damages - which was not true.
After arguing with him, it was established that he had called the wrong person - he had assessed the car of another person who shares my surname.
My car was only assessed on 7 May 2013, almost 2 weeks later and I still await the outcome.
