Would prefer a complaint than to be proactive

As they suggested on their email I feedback here goes.
I wrote to tell them I will be out of the country when my premium is due to be reviewed and could they email me so I know what they are proposing and can make the necessary arrangement for a change in premium - like ensuring I have money in the bank to pay!
They wrote back and said they could not send an email only a letter and could I tell them if I didn't receive the letter they would send.
How will I receive a letter if I'm not in the country and would they really prefer me to complain after the fact than help me find a solution before I leave the country.
Simple answer- find another insurer, they all want my business.
I find customer service people rarely read what is sent to them these days, they just seem to have a set list of replies and look for what seems most likely to fit, what ever happened to personal service!
