On 1 May I phoned customer services to increase me dayly withdrawl amount on my current account as I needed to buy a new computer - I was robbed. After phoning and holding on for 20 minutes in total, I managed to get through to an agent who refered me back to an automatic security check, which I did. To cut matters short, the whole process took me about 45 min (REF NO: A8A2686) until I was told that my dayly withdrawl has been adjusted to R5000. (There was R35000 in that account available) WHEN I GOT TO THE SHOP an Hour later and wanted to pay, THIS ACCOUNT WAS NOT AMMENDED!!! I felt like a fool!!! I phoned them back (after holding on for 10 more minutes) and communicated my grievance. I was told that someone would phone me back before 2 as they all "KNOCKED OFF" at two!!! My call was not returned. I have been banking with Standard Bank for 20 years and have 4 accounts with them - I have always been a very satisfied customer until now. This customer service is ATTROCIOUS!!!
