Service goes out the door when money walks in

I have been a loyal supporter of Groupon SA for years. Bought a lot of great deals and received great service in the past. This year kicked off to a very bad start and starting to change my view about them. I had two separate problems with vouchers bought recently but the worst was the last one:

I bought a voucher Geno's Porta Portaguesa Restaurant for four people. Invited my parents to come visit for the day to treat them, only to be told by the restaurant that the voucher is not valid and that Groupon sold it without them knowing. I felt so embarrassed. We ended up having to go to Wimpy as I only had money with me for drinks and the tip and did not want to go back home to fetch my wallet. I called on Monday and requested a refund and not credit as I had to spend extra money from my pocket as their voucher did not work, but they refused. They still get their money if they credit your account, forcing you to still buy from them, but not realizing that they are actually losing a customer. I spent a half an hour on the phone and also asked that they should consider the extra cost and perhaps give me something to make up for it, but this too was too much for them.
