I am horrified by SSA's service, it's ridiculous and shocking. I did an online booking for my child, SAA had to confirm a seat for him which usually takes about 2 hrs to do. My child's seat was confirmed and when I gave my card details to pay for my child they could not process the payment because the card had to be present at the airport, this was about the 5th time I was booking for my child and the card never had to be present at the airport before because I always paid online and this time I could not because I had no internet access by the time the seat was confirmed.
They then suggested I go pay at pick n pay which I did but cud nt because the ref no. given to me on the phone was wrong. The guy at pick n pay called them and they said I could phone and explain the problem encountered at Pick n pay and they would let me pay telephonically which they still refused when I called. I spent about R100 on the phone and was told at around 6p.m that the system had cancelled my child's booking, to think the whole process started at 12p.m and I was still struggling to pay by 6p.m and my booking was nw cancelled despite being told it takes 8hrs before the ticket is cancelled.
