Virgin Active South Africa
Online booking at Virgin Active for children

Sports

Joined Virgin Active in 2010. I paid a once-off fee for my 14 year old child. When signing the deal it was stated that my child would have access to the gym the same way I have access to the gym. They introduced the online booking system for cycle classes. When I tried to register my child, I notice that I am unable to do so. I enquiry about this and was told that she is welcome to book 30 minute before the start of the class but cannot book online - she is not a paying member. When booking 30 minutes before the class the child will not be seated next to me, in which case the child will be without supervision - is that more acceptable to the gym than enabling her to book online in which case she will be seated next to me? I have paid a once off-fee for her and therefore she should be seen as a paying-member of Virgin-active. The Rule Book of Virgin Active make no reference to being a paying member. JUNIOR MEMBERS - Until they reach the age of 18 years, junior members will have free access to the Club, provided that their parent (s) are members in good standing and payments are current. The membership type of a junior member will be the same as that of their parent (s).
