Utterly Useless and Embarrassing Airline

SAA's customer service on the phone is absolutely useless. I asked three times to enquire about a price if I were to change my ticket. So, not only do I get told that they can't tell me on the phone, the need to forward my enquiry on to another department, but I must phone in 2hrs to check what it was. Who does that in today's modern world? Every other airline quotes you immediately? How thick can you be? And you don't even offer to phone me back as part of your service, I must phone back and chase up. What's worse is that when I did phone back the first time, the lady forgot to put my request through. So I had to start all over again with a new customer service person who told me the same thing. Then to make matters worse, some imbecile changed my ticket without telling me or charging me, when all I wanted was a quote. So I spent 2 days of my holiday negotiating and trying to get SAA to correct my ticket. Then I'm told i can't transit through heathrow as i have no transit visa, but nowhere on their site or with the booking did they bother to notify me, so I lost that flight. The flight itself was terrible, The food sucked and they never gave me socks or masks. Utterly 3rd world.
