EXCUSE TO MAKE MONEY OUT OF A CONSUMER

I booked a flight to King Shaka departing on 24 December 2013, from Lanseria Airport. I checked in online the previous night. My family and I were at the airport 30 minutes before departure and we were told that the "system" had closed and that Kulula could not check in our luggage. The attendant referred me to the Kulula Sales office. We were attended to by an obnoxious person, who simple said there is nothing he can help us with except for us to be placed the last flight out that evening. This was not an option as we had travel plans and hotel bookings that we were going to loose out on. When we refused to move and asked him to offer us a solution, he then said if we were willing, there was a flight out from OR Thambo at 9am.
when we enquired what it would cost, he replied R800. We then realised after we received a message from the bank that is was R854 per person, which we were never advised of. I know for a fact that any airline, will accept your luggage provided that you checked in on line, especially if it is about 30 - 25 minutes before departure. This is a money making scheme. More so, I reported the incident to customer care and I have to date, not received a reply.
