I purchased a ticket for my 17 year old son to travel from Lanseria to King Shaka for the 20 March 2013 on flight MN 503 departing at 18-25. Due to traffic, he arrived at your counter exactly 30 minutes before departure. Whilst he was on time according to your check in conditions, he was told that the flight was closed and that he would not be able to travel. He explained to your staff that it was exactly 17-55 and he was within the 30 minutes rule. The staff acknowledged that it was 17-55 but were adamant that the flight was closed already. He phoned me and I pleaded with your manager that he was a 17 year old boy who did not have accommodation for the evening and asked that he please be accommodated. She refused point blank. Being in a different town, hundreds of kilometers away, anyone who has the hardest of hearts would try to assist this young lad who was far away from home. I had to arrange a lift back from Lanseria, organize accommodation for him for the night, pay a difference for another flight and get him home the next afternoon 24 hours later. When he pointed out that it was only 17-55, the person at the counter agreed but said the flight is closed.
