I've made an online booking with Sleeping-out at 9.30pm and paid a deposit. When I wanted to cancel the booking (due to leave dates that was changed by my husband's employer) the next day at 14h00, (without receiving a confirmation of booking from the establishment at that date and time). After speaking to Cyrise over the phone, I was told to cancel the booking online.

When I wanted to do that, I saw that I will loose the whole deposit amount. this amounted into a huge discussion between me and Cyrise, because I refused to pay it. I was told that they will take it up with the establishment.
After waiting a few days, the establishment said that they will wave the cancellation fee.

Sleeping out has a policy of charging 10% of the total amount quoted. My quoted amount was R12 000. I ended up paying R1368 for an 6 hour booking, 5 weeks ahead of time.

I travel a lot, especially overseas, and never have I had such a bad experience with cancelling bookings.

I will never make a booking through Sleeping-Out again
