I made a reservation with one of flight centres subsidiary companies, CruiseAbout for a cruise departing from the UAE. I only paid for the booking to secure a price due to dollar fluctuations-I did not sign any documents and was not told told of any cancellation clauses verbally either. I cancelled my booking 14 days later, reasons being visa requirements, flight centre staff, Natalie misleading passengers about charges on cruise liner, bad customer service etc. I am now told that flight centre will deduct 40% cancellation fee since the cruise company is charging flight centre (cruiseabout) this fee. This is not acceptable to me and it seems that flight centre is passing the blame on me since their employee Natalie was negligent in performing her duties and not informing me of their cancellation clauses. I was told by Natalie that I must come to their office to fill out the booking forms etc and sign, to date I did not go. Neither did she call me to ask me to come. I am not prepared to pay an unreasonable cancellation fee I did not know anything about. Flight centre's motto should not be PAYMENT FIRST, contract and terms and conditions LATER.
