Kulula take money, ask for more, then dont confirm

This morn 18 July I went online to purchase tickets on [URL Removed] from Cape Town to Durban for 22 July.
I went through the whole process following their prompts, even registering for frequent flying programme, then submitted my card details for their quoted price of R977.
I received a pop up message that my payment did not go thru so pls try again. I did this again.
Same pop up. I then tried to purchase a multi ticket from Cape Town to Dur 22 Jul, then Dur to Jnb 23 Jul.
I was quoted R1724, even puchased chosen seats and accepted total quote of R1818.
Again I received a pop up thatbmy transaction did not go thru.
Two mins later I received emails from FNB that all my payments went thru, so effectively I have paid for 4 flights with Kulula and received not one confirmation.
When I called Kulula, I was told that the reason is because their prices went up whilst I was making my booking, and I now have to wait 24 hrs - 7 days for a reversal of my funds.
Is this not illegal... to quote one price, then tell the customer to try again, quote the same price again then when I call, they say its because their prices went up...?? This is unacceptable, as I now sit with no money, no tickets!
