I purchased a ticket for a business associate to travel from Durban to Lanseria for a meeting. Unfortunately, I entered the wrong surname when I made the booking via the [URL Removed] website. I only realised that when I received the confirmation
When I called the customer care department to make a change to the ticket, I was informed that their (fairly new) policy is that they will not allow any name changes on any booking. Furthermore, they told me that I cannot cancel the ticket or get a refund, in fact, I have no options available and the ticket has to be forfeited. When I suggested this is at least immoral, I was told that I should have read the Terms and Conditions before I "accepted" them in order to make the booking,
Strangely, Kulula no longer require the passengers ID No. in the on-line booking procedure - I would not have made a mistake with that! That means that anyone with the right name can check in.
This reminds me of the tricks used by Ryan Air in UK whereby they frequently charge for items that many customers are not aware of
