Vodacom ripps off contract members

According to my contract I have with vodacom. they give me 300 Mb data a month, yet when you dont use it and request a balance sms it states that you have 200 Mb data remaining from the previous month. When I try to use it. I cannot because according to the lady (Anita) that I spoke to, I should have known that its only valid when you have used the current data of the current month. So I have paid for something and yet even though it shows there is still remaining data left. I wont get to use it! Is that fair... I'm actually ready to leave this company because I'm feeling ripped off.
