My phone was lost and we would just like to have it blocked or blacklisted. I am a secondary user on a contract phone but the main member lives 100km away.
I phoned through on the 808 mtn helpline to have the phone blacklisted and was told that only the main member is authorised to do this, which I accepted. As the main member does not have a MTN cellphone she has to phone 083 1 808 according to the call centre agent and MTNs website. She has been trying to do so for the last two days but cannot get through on 083 1 808. Therfore I contacted MTN again on 808 and asked them to contact the main member (as this was done for us previously - not 2 weeks ago), only to be told that I was not telling the truth! I then asked to speak to a manager or supervisor to which I did not recieve a reply and the line was put on silent for more than 5 minutes.
Surely this is unacceptable? As we are paying monthly for a phone that was lost, we now cannot block or blacklist because of faults with MTN and their unfriendly and unhelpful service.
